Leaked: Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra design is almost identical to the S24 Ultra

Images have surfaced online confirming that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will not look much different from its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, despite early rumors of significant design changes. Judging by the new information, the smartphone may lose its characteristic sharp corners and get more rounded edges, but it won’t be radically different.

Design with smooth changes
Earlier leaks about the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggested radical design changes, but as we get closer to the official launch in January, more and more sources are reporting moderate updates. Insider Roland Quandt has shared images of third-party cases for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra models. The base and Plus versions are expected to be nearly identical to their predecessors, with only minor changes in size.

When it comes to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the smartphone is expected to ditch the signature boxy design. While it was originally rumored to have fully rounded corners, new leaks suggest a more subdued change: the corners will be slightly rounded and the side bezels will be flat. This will make the side bezels visually thinner, as the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s curved edges gave the illusion of more massive bezels.

Powerful chipset and new features
The entire Galaxy S25 series will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip in all regions. Early reports raised concerns about possible overheating, but that may prove to be an unfounded worry at this point.

It’s worth noting that the display of Samsung’s new flagships probably won’t be as premium as the iPhone 16 Pro. The One UI 7 shell based on Android 15 will be unveiled alongside the launch of the Galaxy S25, and it will be Samsung’s first flagship to support seamless software updates.
