Samsung has started production of Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7
By ForGeeks According to new information from insider PandaFlashPro, Samsung is moving on schedule with the release of its next generation of foldable smartphones. Production of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 models has already started – along with their accessories. The company seems to be sticking to its timeline, which points to a possible unveiling as early as early July.
Manufacturing plans cut – demand expected to be lower
Production of both the devices themselves and the foldable OLED panels for them has already started. However, Samsung has set lower release targets this year. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be released in 3 million copies, while the Fold 7 will be released in 2 million copies. That’s about 40 percent less than the combined volume of last year’s models.
Samsung has also started releasing accessories for both devices. On top of that, rumor has it that the company may unveil a triple foldable smartphone this year. However, its print run is expected to be just 200,000 units – the device is likely to be niche and expensive.
Flip 7 could get Exynos 2500, while Fold 7 could get Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is rumored to get a larger external screen and could be the first device to feature the company’s proprietary Exynos 2500 chip made using the 3nm process. However, some leaks point to a possible ditching of Exynos in favor of Snapdragon if the proprietary processor isn’t ready for release.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, should get the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip – similar to the one in the upcoming Galaxy S25.
Galaxy S25 Edge is coming out as early as May
Simultaneously, Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is set to premiere as early as next week. The device relies on a slim body and is already available for pre-order in the UK – with bonuses for first-time buyers. The presentation is expected on May 13 in South Korea, May 23 in China, and May 30 elsewhere.
