Image of Galaxy Z Fold 5 leaked online: Samsung to unveil foldable smartphone in late July
By ForGeeks Samsung is preparing to unveil its latest innovation in the world of foldable smartphones — the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5. The presentation of the new devices is expected to take place at the end of July in Seoul. Despite this, a marketing image of the Z Fold 5 has already appeared online.
According to the rendering, Samsung retains the location and appearance of the rear camera, USB-C port and speaker holes. However, the noticeable changes will be the hinge: a drop-shaped mechanism will allow the halves to fold tightly to each other without any visible gaps. This type of hinge is already found in other folding smartphones from different manufacturers. In addition, the site MySmartPrice, which published the image, notes a thinner frame.
Insider OnLeaks previously reported that the new smartphone will be 2.3 mm thinner. The company has moved the flash outside of the rear camera panel. According to the information, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a 7.6-inch main display covered in Gorilla Glass Victus 2, as well as an external screen measuring 6.2 inches. Both displays will use AMOLED technology and have a 120 Hz refresh rate. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 8GB or 12GB of RAM is expected as the computing platform. In addition, the smartphone boasts a 4,400 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support and a triple rear camera (50+12+10MP).
In addition, MySmartPrice shared a press image of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The render shows a radical increase in the size of the external display from 1.9 inches to 3.4 inches. This screen can be used to control music playback or as a viewfinder.
