Redmi K90 released: flagship specs at half the price

Redmi has officially unveiled the new K90 series in China, and while all eyes are on the top-of-the-line K90 Pro Max model, the base Redmi K90 is impressive too. For around $350, the smartphone offers features that recently cost twice as much — including a 2K display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and an audio system tuned with Bose.

The Redmi K90 gets the same TCL M10 screen as the Xiaomi 17 series. It’s a 6.59-inch LTPO panel with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 3,500 nits. The display supports 2560Hz PWM control, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for a smooth picture and eye comfort.

The device is powered by — the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip with Adreno 830 graphics, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. For cooling, there is a 5,300 mm² system with a three-tiered design that helps keep temperatures under control. The smartphone runs on HyperOS 3 — the latest version of Xiaomi’s proprietary shell based on Android 16.

The main camera is — a 50-megapixel Light Hunter 800 sensor with optical image stabilization. It’s assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto with 2.5x optical zoom. The front camera has a resolution of 20MP.

An impressive 7,100mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging is responsible for battery life, providing more than a day of active use. Other features include — Wi-Fi 7 support, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IP68/IP69 protection and an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint scanner under the screen.

Separate attention should be paid to sound — stereo speakers tuned by Bose engineers and an advanced X-axis vibration motor provide a premium multimedia experience. Despite the powerful battery, the smartphone remains relatively thin — 8mm — and weighs 206 grams.

Redmi K90 is available in Light Purple, Aqua Blue, Black and White colors. Prices in China start at 2,599 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB version and go up to 3,999 yuan for the top-end variant with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage:
