Meizu has revealed the front panel of the Meizu 22

Meizu has launched a teaser campaign for the Meizu 22 flagship smartphone, unveiling its front panel in China. The company claims that the novelty will get the thinnest symmetrical bezels in the world – just 1.2 mm on each side. At the same time, the front of the device will be made in white color, which is especially difficult to implement with such thin borders of the screen.

As Meizu explains, the industry rarely uses white front panels in devices with narrow bezels – due to serious manufacturing defect issues. However, the brand emphasizes that white has remained a part of its corporate identity since the Meizu MX2. To achieve the goal, the company’s engineers developed a proprietary LIPO process and applied six-layer processing despite high losses during the testing phase. Meizu claims it’s already close to mass production.

Although the exact screen dimensions have yet to be revealed, the Meizu 22 promises a compact form factor with one-handed usability. According to CMIIT Database, the device goes by the model number M582Q and will feature a 5,370 mAh battery (typical is 5,500 mAh).

The smartphone is expected to get a Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version chipset as well as a periscopic telephoto lens. Earlier in May, the company announced a complete overhaul of its imaging strategy, and the Meizu 22 will be the first smartphone with the new algorithms. Meizu will also drop familiar prefixes like “Pro” and “Standard” – instead introducing a unique lineup of models within the Meizu 22 series.

The Meizu revealed the Meizu 22 front panel was first published on ITZine.ru.
