Lava unveils Shark 5G budget smartphone

Lava Mobiles continues to expand its lineup of affordable devices. The new device, called the Lava Shark 5G, offers decent specs at a minimal price point – with an emphasis on a 90Hz screen, 5G support and a modern version of Android.
The Shark 5G gets a 6.75-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen features a drop-shaped cutout for the 5MP front camera. The main camera on the back is 13MP. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the side edge, embedded in the power button.

The smartphone is powered by a Unisoc T765 chip paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is support for microSD cards for memory expansion. The device is IP54 certified, dust and splash resistant, and features a 3.5mm headphone jack.
A 5,000mAh battery with support for up to 18W fast charging is responsible for battery life. The latest Android 15 is used as the operating system.
Lava Shark 5G is available in two colors: Stellar Gold and Stellar Blue. The version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is priced at 7,999 Indian rupees (about $93). Ordering is already open both through Lava’s official online store in India and at the brand’s retail outlets across the country.
