Lava launched its first gaming smartphone – Play Ultra

Lava has announced its entry into the gaming smartphone market with the Play Ultra. It’s powered by a Dimensity 7300 chipset paired with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of onboard UFS 3.1 storage, which is expandable via microSD card up to 1TB.

The smartphone runs on “pure Android 15” with no ads, unnecessary apps or pre-installed software. The manufacturer promises two years of OS updates and three years of security updates. There’s a separate Game Booster mode for gaming.
Lava Play Ultra features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with FullHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits peak brightness. Cut into the center of the screen is a 13MP front-facing camera, and there’s a fingerprint scanner below the display.

On the back, the smartphone has a camera unit stylized in the spirit of the iQOO 12/13. It houses two modules: 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera and 5MP macro.
Autonomy is provided by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, and IP64 protection.

Lava Play Ultra will be available in Arctic Slate and Arctic Frost colors in two memory configurations: 6/128GB for $170 and 8/128GB for $190. Sales start August 25.
