JCB has introduced a range of rugged smartphones for professionals

British company JCB has launched three new rugged Android smartphones designed for professionals in construction, logistics and other demanding work environments.

Flagship model: Toughphone P20
- Screen: 6.6″ Full HD+ at 120Hz
- Performance: MediaTek MT6877 chipset, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage (with microSD card support up to 1TB)
- Battery: 10,000 mAh with Power Bank function (up to 40 hours talk time, 50 days standby)
- Protection: IP69K and MIL-STD-810H standards, drop resistance from 1.8 meters
- Thermal imager with a range of -15°C to 550°C (256×192 resolution)
- Triple main camera (64 MP + 8 MP + 20 MP night vision)
- Front camera 20 MP
Price: £649/€ – which puts it on par with competitors like the Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra (Android 15, similar protection, bigger battery).
Budget options: the M20 and E10
- Toughphone M20 (£449):
- Mid-tier, competes with Doogee S200 (5G, similar specs, but cheaper)
- Toughphone E10 (£249):
- Early entry-level, but the price tag is close to more interesting alternatives (e.g. 8849 Shark 3 with its gaming design and ruggedized body)
Competitive Issues
- Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 is more reliable in terms of software and updates for enterprise customers.
- Oukitel WP200 Pro – offers similar protection and good features for a lower price.
