The iPhone 16 is still a few months away from release, but we could already be getting the first hints of Apple’s plans for the 2025 iPhone. According to insider Ross Young, the iPhone 17 Plus could get a smaller display compared to its predecessors.

According to insider Ross Young, the iPhone 17 Plus could get a smaller display compared to its predecessors.

The current iPhone 15 series includes the iPhone 15 with a 6.1-inch display, the iPhone 15 Plus with 6.7 inches, and both Pro models with 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively. Young’s prediction, while vague on exact measurements, implies that the iPhone 17 Plus screen size could end up somewhere between the standard iPhone 17 / iPhone 17 Pro and the top-of-the-line iPhone 17 Pro Max.

This isn’t the only display change coming to the iPhone 17 series. Previous reports have claimed that Apple could equip all iPhone 17 models with LTPO OLED panels. This would potentially allow the standard and Plus iPhones to finally enable «ProMotion», Apple’s name for its 120Hz refresh rate technology, a feature currently exclusive to the Pro models.

The iPhone 17 is still a long way off, but the iPhone 16 series is just around the corner, and is expected to see a reshuffling of display sizes. The iPhone 16 Pro is likely to grow to a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max could get the largest display on the iPhone — 6.9 inches.
