The price of the top version of iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2 TB of memory has reached $1999

Apple unveiled the iPhone 17 lineup at its September presentation. For the first time ever, the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB of storage is now available, with the price reaching $1999.
Prices and starting configurations
iPhone 17 Pro now starts at $1099. At the same time, the minimum storage capacity has been increased from 128GB to 256GB. So with comparable specs, the iPhone 17 Pro and last year’s iPhone 16 Pro are the same price.
iPhone 17 Pro Max also starts with 256GB of storage at a price of $1199 – unchanged relative to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. But now there’s a new version with a maximum of 2TB. Apple is asking $1999 for it, making it the first smartphone in the company’s history with a $2,000 price tag.
For comparison, the 1TB model costs $1599. So adding another terabyte increases the price by $400.

New iPhone Air model
Another new product at the presentation is the iPhone Air. It costs $999, while the iPhone Plus started at $899 last year. Despite the price increase, the iPhone Air is closer in features to the Pro lineup than the Plus models, so a direct comparison with last year’s devices is incorrect.
First $2,000 iPhone sooner than expected
It was previously thought that the first iPhone model with a $2000 price tag wouldn’t arrive until next year, along with the flexible iPhone Fold. However, Apple has decided to step up to that level now, making the 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max the most expensive iPhone in history.
