Honor Magic V5 will launch globally on August 28th

Honor has officially confirmed the global launch date for its new flagship Magic V5 foldable smartphone. Following a teaser of the Magic V Flip 2 model, the company is preparing to bring the Magic V5 to international markets as early as the end of this month.

The Chinese manufacturer has published an announcement poster, according to which the Honor Magic V5 will have its global premiere on August 28 in London, a month after its debut in China. The smartphone will be available in three colors: Dawn Gold, Black and Ivory White. The Magic V5 is the thinnest device in its class at just 8.8mm when folded.

Despite its slim body, the smartphone features a 5,820mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging via cable and 50W wireless charging. The device also gets IP58 and IP59 water and dust resistance. The camera system utilizes a triple camera module: 50 MP (main) + 50 MP (ultra wide angle) + 64 MP (periscopic telephoto). For selfies, there are two front cameras of 20 MP each – on the inner and outer displays. The main screen is a 7.95-inch panel, while the outer screen is a 6.43-inch panel.

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, delivering top-end performance. Other features include built-in AI tools, stereo speakers, facial recognition, an under-screen fingerprint scanner, NFC support, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

The price of the Honor Magic V5 hasn’t been revealed yet – details are expected closer to the launch date.
