Honor Magic 8 Pro will get Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 3D Face ID

Honor is preparing to release the Magic 8 series, which is expected to premiere in October. The main novelty — Honor Magic 8 Pro. The smartphone will be the only Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-based device with support for 3D Face ID and ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.”

According to insiders, the Honor Magic 8 Pro will feature a triple camera system:
- a 50MP main sensor (1/1.3-inch format);
- a 50MP ultra-wide-angle module;
- periscope telephoto lens at 200MP with 1/1.4 inch sensor, fast optics and 85mm equivalent focal length (parameter to be specified).
The Magic 8 Pro thus competes directly with the Vivo X300 Pro and Oppo Find X9 Pro, but the latter is powered by a Dimensity 9500 chip.

Battery and charging
Another feature will be a battery with a capacity of more than 7,000 mAh. A mention of the smartphone with model number BKQ-AN00 / AN80 has already appeared in the database of Chinese regulator 3C. The device has been tested together with a 90W charger.
Screen and differences between the models in the series
Honor Magic 8 Pro will get a flat 6.7-inch OLED display. The base version of the Magic 8 will come with a 6.58-inch OLED panel.
- Magic 8 Mini — 6.3 inches, Dimensity 9500 processor;
- Magic 8 Ultra — Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, camera with 50MP 1/0.98-inch OV LOFIC sensor, ultra-wide module and Samsung HP9 200MP periscope with 4.3-7x optical zoom.
Sources say the Mini and Ultra will be released in the first half of 2025 in China.
