Honor 400 Pro will come with a stripped-down Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 200 MP camera

Honor is getting ready to unveil new models of its popular Honor 400 and 400 Pro series. After the recent release of the more affordable 400 Lite version, the brand is beefing up the lineup with powerful devices, and now the first benchmark data about the senior model has surfaced.
Processor: familiar but understated
Honor 400 Pro (model number DNP-NX9) has been spotted in Geekbench. According to the leak, the smartphone is powered by a slightly stripped-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – almost the same chipset was in the Honor 300 Pro. In synthetic benchmarks, the device scored 2089 points in single-core and 6032 points in multi-core tests.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a slightly slimmed-down version of the Snapdragon 8 chipset.

- 1×3.05 GHz Cortex-X4
- 5×2.96 GHz Cortex-A720
- 2×2.04 GHz Cortex-A520
In comparison, the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 version of the Snapdragon 8 installed in the Xiaomi 15 runs at frequencies up to 3.3GHz and performs better: around 2193/7300 points on Geekbench. However, the stripped-down version may offer better thermal stability and battery life.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 version is the only one that can offer better thermal stability and battery life.
Honor 400 Pro will get 12 or 16GB of RAM and will run Android 15 with MagicOS 9.0 shell.
Cameras and charging: a confident upgrade
The main improvement over the Honor 300 Pro will be the camera: expect a 200-megapixel main module, a 50 MP TV with triple zoom, and a 12 MP ultra-wide shooter. That’s a major jump from the previous model’s 50 MP main camera. It’s still unclear how advanced the TV will be, but the overall configuration looks pretty impressive.
The two devices (DNN-AN00 and DNP-AN00) have already passed 3C certification in China: the Honor 400 will support 80W charging, while the 400 Pro will support 90W charging. Also reported is a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz and peak brightness up to 5,000 nits. A 7,000 mAh battery will be responsible for battery life.
April release: Honor targets premium segment
The Honor 400 Pro is expected to go on sale in China as early as April 2025. The smartphone is clearly aimed at the upper end of the mid-range segment and will compete with models like the Poco F7 Pro. Whether it manages to grab attention with its camera and autonomy, we’ll find out very soon.
