Galaxy Z Fold7 has received its first update before the official release

Samsung has started rolling out the first update for the Galaxy Z Fold7 even before the smartphone goes on sale. The update with build number F966NKSS2AYG5 is already available in South Korea.
The focus is on the July 2025 security patch. It addresses 40 vulnerabilities, including one critical issue in Android, 21 high severity vulnerabilities and 17 internal bugs related to Knox, Samsung Account and Bluetooth systems. The update will soon be available in other regions, including the U.S., Canada and Europe.

It’s notable that the update doesn’t include any major bug fixes — according to SamMobile, the One UI 8 shell (based on Android 16) already looks complete, with smooth animations, AI-enabled multitasking, and no major technical flaws.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is part of Samsung’s seven-year support program, which includes OS updates to Android 23 (through 2032) and monthly security patches for at least the first four years. That should justify the device’s $1,999 price tag in the base configuration.
Pre-order is already available, with Samsung offering double the storage (512GB for the price of 256GB), up to $1,000 off on a trade-in program in the US, and bonuses on accessories in Europe and the UK.
The early launch of the updates indicates that the model is highly ready for launch. Whether the Galaxy Z Fold7 remains worthy of its price will be revealed in the first reviews next week.
