Yandex Music launched “AI-sets of My Wave” with neural network mixing of tracks

Yandex Plus subscribers have gained access to a new feature of the service – “AI-sets of My Wave”. The music in them is personally selected and neural networks are used to combine it into a single DJ set with a smooth sound and a cohesive atmosphere.
How the new feature works
In “AI Sets,” My Wave does the track selection, and neural network technology combines them into a musical stream without pauses or abrupt transitions.
Alexandra Sagalovich, head of the Yandex Music service, explained how it works:”AI-Sets” is a new way to listen to “My Wave.” The music is not just selected according to your preferences – it is combined in real time into a personal DJ-set. The audio model carefully analyzes the structure of tracks – tacts, rhythm, vocals – and with the help of neural networks and algorithmic processing selects the most striking fragments. Then a separate neural network carefully brings them together, layering them on top of each other to create a smooth and seamless musical flow – with its own character, mood and sound that’s just right for you.
So you’ll be able to enjoy your songs as a single set, without sagging, while maintaining the overall mood.
Genres, scenarios and sound quality
The app now offers more than 70 genres of electronic music, from techno and house to drum ‘n’ bass and jangle. You can choose your listening scenario: “Party,” “On the road,” “Working out.” There are also selections to suit your mood, such as “Joyful” or “Energetic”.
The mobile app’s homepage now includes a “Bring to AI Set” block. There, users can turn on new selections and choose high quality sound, up to lossless.
