Samsung held its System LSI Tech Day event in San Jose, California, where it shared new details about its flagship Exynos 2400 mobile chipset. This processor is likely to appear in the Galaxy S24 series and will be the successor to the Exynos 2200, promising a huge leap in performance.

Samsung claims that Exynos 2400 delivers 1.7x CPU performance increase and 14.7x artificial intelligence performance, compared to Exynos 2200. Samsung also unveiled a new AI tool for text-to-image conversion. Its capabilities were demonstrated during the presentation.

TheExynos 2400 features the Xclipse 940 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture, providing mobile ray tracing that delivers a more realistic experience in games with improved rendering of shadows, reflections and global illumination.

The Exynos 2400 is rumored to be based on the latest 4nm LPP+ process . The chip is likely to feature a 10-core processor in a 1+2+3+4 configuration, with all cores based on the ARMv9 architecture. Presumably, the main Cortex-X4 core runs at 3.1GHz, while the two Cortex-A720 cores run at 2.9GHz. Less demanding tasks will be handled by three Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.

The Exynos 2400 is expected to support LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It is rumored to support camera sensors with up to 320 MP resolution and 8K video recording at 60 fps.
