Intel showed off an ARCade arcade machine with an Arc A770 GPU, but it doesn’t work

As we prepare for the announcement of new Battlemage graphics cards at Computex, a photo of Intel’s signature ARCade arcade machine has surfaced online. The device uses the last-generation Arc A770 GPU, but appeared to be disconnected and malfunctioning. This was reported by X (Twitter) user under the nickname Haze, who posted a shot of the machine on one of Intel’s campuses.
Marketing with history and simplicity in reality
ARCade arcade machines aren’t new. They’ve been seen at major gaming events like DreamHack. Styled like retro booths, they came complete with two joysticks and buttons for fighting games like Street Fighter or Tekken. Inside, as the author of the image notes, is a NUC 12 Extreme with a GPU visually similar to the Intel Arc A770 Limited Edition Alchemist series.

The machine is now non-functional – it displays a boot error: “A Bootable Device Has Not Been Detected” and a “Not Working” note is affixed to the case. According to the message, the failure appears to be caused by the lack of bootable media, which is potentially an easy fix.
Waiting for Battlemage at Computex
Although Intel has cut back on aggressive marketing of its GPUs in recent months, interest in the Arc lineup remains. At Computex 2025B580 models with 24GB of memory, as well as a possible flagship B770 based on the BMG-G31 core. The appearance of a new version of ARCade with Battlemage graphics isn’t out of the question either – especially if Intel wants to revive interest in the original idea.
