Ubisoft will release a remaster of Beyond Good & Evil on June 25th

Fans of Beyond Good & Evil have been waiting for some news about the second installment for a while now, but the developers have been silent so far. However, for fans of the first part of the game there is good news — on June 25, Ubisoft will present a remaster of the game for its 20-year anniversary.
Ubisoft announced the official release of Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition during Limited Run Games on Thursday. The remaster will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on June 25.

The new «real» announcement comes after a post on the game’s official account said it would be unveiled during Limited Run Games’ Showcase on Thursday. Despite the announcement being official at the showcase, many outlets (thanks Gematsu) noted that Ubisoft wrote about it on their page and then deleted the post. It’s suspected that the remaster post was simply published ahead of time, although it was previously expected that everyone would see the full announcement of the re-release during the presentation.

There have been plenty of other signs this week that a 20th anniversary edition of the game is on its way. Last week, Video Games Chronicle reported that PlayStation trophies for the game have started appearing on Exophase, an online achievement tracker. The publication also revealed that the original Beyond Good & Evil had been removed from Steam and the Xbox Store.

Ubisoft had previously announced the November release, saying it would «reveal more about this special edition soon…Stay tuned!». This was after the achievements and ESRB rankings were revealed. Wario64’s social media account even noticed that the 20th Anniversary Edition store page was already open, and the game itself was even available for a while. So you could say that the remaster was known about for a long time.

But it’s not Beyond Good & Evil 2, which is reportedly still in development after being announced in 2018. Now the game’s release has been continually delayed and there is no solid news —
So far.
