Red Dead Redemption cast teases fans with hints again – what’s in store for Rockstar?

It looks like something is really cooking in the world of Red Dead Redemption. Several voice actors from Rockstar’s iconic game have been actively hinting at “big news” in recent days. All of this is fueling rumors of an imminent announcement, whether it’s a patch for the current generation of consoles or something completely new.
First John Marston, now Arthur Morgan
The other day Rob Whitoff (John Marston) said on live TV that he had “exciting news”. While he didn’t specify exactly what he was referring to, fans were quick to conclude it had to do with the Red Dead franchise.
It didn’t end there. Actor Roger Clarke, who voiced Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, responded to a fan’s question on X (formerly Twitter) with a short “yes” and a gif of a slyly smiling dog. Apparently, he knows what it’s all about – and is ready to tease fans further.
Roshir Dalal (who voiced Charlie) has also joined the discussion, posting another cryptic gif. It all looks like a coordinated flirtation with the audience.
What could this be: a patch, a port, or not a game at all?”
Naturally, the main assumption is that it’s the long-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 update for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game still hasn’t received a full-fledged version for the new consoles, and rumors of a patch have been floating around for years.
On the other hand, if the actors were involved in recording new dialog or content, they would likely be bound by Rockstar’s strictest NDAs. That makes such overt social media innuendo unlikely – if we’re talking specifically about a game release.
There’s a theory that this could all be linked to the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 on Nintendo Switch 2. According to recent leaks, a port is indeed in development, and Take-Two is actively preparing for the release of its games on Nintendo’s new platform. Among those planned are Borderlands 4, NBA 2K, WWWE 2K, and quite possibly Red Dead.
New life for RDR2 after almost 6 years?
The original Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in October 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One, before coming to PC in 2019. Despite the stunning graphics and elaborate open world, there’s still no official support for current-gen consoles.
With the growing interest in the franchise, the increasing leaks, and the cast’s activity, it’s safe to say: news on Red Dead is just around the corner. The only question is how big it will be.
