Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has been verified on Steam Deck

Insomniac has announced that the PC port of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has passed Steam Deck Verified. The PC version was released today, and players will be able to play it seamlessly on Steam Deck handhelds, according to a tweet from the studio.

According to Insomniac, the game is now available on Steam Deck.

Bearing in mind that Ratchet & Clank requires 75GB of disk space, that means players on a cheap Steam Deck will have to install the game on an internal SD card, while players on more expensive models will still have that option.

This also contradicts Insomniac’s previous statements prior to the PS5’s release that the game was impossible on any other hardware due to the PS5’s extremely fast SSD.

In a video published on the PlayStation YouTube channel in June 2020, before the PS5’s release that year and the game in 2021, Insomniac creative director Marcus Smith claimed that the rift-travel mechanics were impossible on previous systems.
