The authors of Layers of Fear are developing a game based on The Walking Dead

Thanks to a major deal with Skybound Entertainment, Bloober Team, the acclaimed studio of Polish horror masters, has risen to new heights. The team is not only preparing a remake of the cult game Silent Hill 2, but has also signed a contract to create a game based on the “Walking Dead” universe.
No details of the deal have been officially announced, but Bloober Team has boasted about the signed agreement with Robert Kirkmann and David Alpert’s company, known to the public for The Walking Dead franchise. Without a doubt, the Polish studio’s next project will be an exciting game based on this popular license.

So Bloober Team is grabbing its second consecutive major intellectual property for its creation, though the decision to turn to other people’s worlds may cause some controversy. For fans of the most popular zombie franchise of our time, however, the news should be welcome news, as they’ll be able to dive into an exciting gaming universe as soon as 2025.

It’s worth remembering that game adaptations of The Walking Dead haven’t always been lucky. But there have been a handful of successful projects, including a series of Telltale games and a VR game called “The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners.”
