Xiaomi has unveiled a new smart camera, the Smart Camera 4 Dual-Camera Edition

Xiaomi in China has launched a new smart camera called Smart Camera 4 Dual-Camera Edition. The device is priced at 299 yuan, which is roughly equivalent to 42 US dollars. It is already available for purchase on JD.com. This model is a follow-up to the recently released Smart Camera 4 Zoom Edition.

The new camera features two 5-megapixel lenses, each capturing video at a resolution of about 2960 by 1666 pixels. It uses a five-lens optical design, a large f/1.6 aperture, and special image processing technologies to ensure a sharp and detailed picture. The camera can shoot video at 20 frames per second, making it smooth when watching moving objects.

The device has two lens systems: a fixed wide-angle lens and a PTZ lens that can pan, tilt and zoom. The PTZ lens can rotate 360 degrees horizontally and tilt 90 degrees vertically, while the fixed lens covers a viewing angle of 152 degrees and can be adjusted manually vertically. Both systems work together to reduce blind spots and provide real-time viewing on two screens.

The camera performs well at night thanks to a high-sensitivity image sensor and special processing algorithms. It supports full-color night vision in low-light conditions and is equipped with a 940 nm infrared illuminator that allows you to see clearly in total darkness up to ten meters away.

Inside, the device uses a powerful chip with a processing power of one TOPS, which enables local object recognition using artificial intelligence. The camera can detect humans, pets, baby crying and unusual sounds. If it detects motion or an object, the PTZ lens will automatically rotate for tracking.

The camera supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 for fast and stable connection. It integrates seamlessly with Xiaomi’s HyperOS Connect smart home system, allowing you to connect it to other Xiaomi devices – like smart locks or lighting systems. There’s also two-way voice communication via the built-in speaker and noise-canceling microphone.

For storage, the device supports microSD cards from sixteen to two hundred fifty-six gigabytes, as well as NAS storage or paid cloud. Video is encoded using the H.265 format, which provides good quality with a smaller file size. A wall bracket is included for both vertical and upside down installation.

The camera measures approximately seventy-eight by seventy-three millimeters wide by one hundred and twenty-seven millimeters tall; it weighs about three hundred and forty-seven grams.
