Apple is reportedly working on two new versions of the Vision Pro

Apple hasn’t abandoned its plans to release a more affordable version of the Vision Pro, Bloomberg reports. In his Power On newsletter over the weekend, Mark Gurman revealed that the company is developing two new models: one that will be lighter and cheaper than the first-generation headset, and one designed to integrate with Macs. While Apple had previously considered augmented reality glasses, it decided to take that idea to the Vision Pro to provide “ultra-low latency for streaming a user’s Mac display or connecting to high-performance enterprise applications,” according to Gurman.

Nevertheless, Apple’s ultimate goal is to create augmented reality glasses that are practical and comfortable enough for everyday wearers. The next iterations of the Vision Pro are seen as steps toward that ambitious goal. Gurman also noted that Apple CEO Tim Cook is “obsessed with creating a product that will become an industry leader before Meta* manages to do so.”
