Sony has unveiled arcade fighting controller Project Defiant for PS5 and PC
By ForGeeks Sony has announced the Project Defiant arcade controller, a new fighting stick for PlayStation 5 and PC. The device was unveiled at the State of Play presentation and officially described on the company’s blog.
Project Defiant supports wireless connectivity via PlayStation Link
Project Defiant is an arcade controller with wireless connectivity via PlayStation Link technology. It provides ultra-low latency and fast button and joystick signals. Wired operation via USB-C is also available.
The controller is compatible with PS5 and PC, making it a versatile solution for home players and tournament players alike. Sony envisions Project Defiant to be a great fit for the recently announced Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection and other fighting games.
Project Defiant’s equipment and features
The controller features a digital joystick developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, as well as buttons with mechanical switches. It also has a touchpad, similar to the touchpad in the DualSense gamepad, and interchangeable motion stops for the joystick – square, round, and octagonal.

It comes with a carrying case with a recess for the lever to protect it on the road.
The official name of the device, as well as a launch date, will be announced closer to release. According to preliminary information, Project Defiant will go on sale in 2026.
