Sony has released a limited edition NFL collection of WH-1000XM5 headphones
What happens when you combine popular noise-canceling headphones with a fan’s love of the NFL? Sony has revealed the answer — the company has unveiled a limited edition collection of its flagship WH-1000XM5s dedicated to National Football League teams. The first model in the series — a Detroit Lions version that gets a silver case and the team’s logo on the cups.
There are no changes inside — specs remain the same as the regular WH-1000XM5. The headphones still feature Adaptive Sound Management, which adjusts the sound to your surroundings. The familiar soft cushioning that has been one of the reasons for the model’s popularity has been retained.
It’s interesting that Sony chose the WH-1000XM5 over the more recent WH-1000XM6. The XM5’s advanced noise-cancellation system relies on two processors and eight microphones.
All the proprietary technologies are also available, including LDAC high-resolution wireless audio, DSEE Extreme compressed file enhancement, Bluetooth dual-device connectivity, voice assistant, and automatic music muting during calls.

Autonomy remains the same: up to 30 hours with active noise canceling and up to 40 hours — without it. Fast charging gives you hours of listening after a few minutes at the outlet.
The main uniqueness — appearance. Instead of the usual black or beige options, the Detroit Lions Edition gets a silver color and the signature attacking lion logo on the cups. The new design is available now on Sony’s website for those rooting for the Detroit Lions.
The price is $400, but first-time buyers can purchase the model for $330. If you’re waiting for other teams — it’s worth noting the dates: the Buffalo Bills version will be available on Dec. 8, and the Houston Texans — on Dec.
