Samsung XR headset delayed by six months

The launch of the new —Samsung XR augmented reality headset, which was supposed to take place in February 2024, has been delayed by 3-6 months, SBS Biz reports.

The Korean publication claims that the company originally planned to begin mass production of the XR headset early next year, but the Korean conglomerate decided to revise all specifications and design of the XR headset because of Apple Vision Pro specifications, which pushed back its launch.

While Samsung has decided to review the specs and design of its XR headset, things aren’t going smoothly for Apple either, as the Vision Pro is facing production issues, and the Apple giant has lowered its goal of selling 1 million Vision Pro units in its first month of availability.

Apple is also reportedly planning a slow distribution of the Vision Pro, and it will only be available for purchase by appointment.
