Marshall has introduced the Kilburn III portable Bluetooth speaker
By ForGeeks Marshall has released the new Kilburn III portable Bluetooth speaker, an updated version of its popular series. The new speaker has more than double the battery life of its predecessor and improvements in design, sound, and everyday usability.
360° sound and Class D amplifiers
Kilburn III delivers 360-degree surround sound with proprietary True Stereophonic technology. The speaker system consists of one 4-inch woofer and two 2-inch woofers. One 30-watt Class D amplifier for the subwoofer and two 10-watt amplifiers for the wideband drivers are responsible for amplification. The maximum sound pressure reaches 91 dB SPL at a distance of 1 meter. The enclosure features a phase-inverter for enhanced bass response.
Communication and Audio Formats
The speaker supports Bluetooth 5.3 with multi-connectivity and a range of up to 10 meters. There’s a 3.5mm AUX input for wired connectivity. SBC, LC3 and MPEG-2 AAC codecs are supported. No microphones are included.
Management, charging and interfaces
The top panel has controls for volume, bass, treble, power, rewind, Bluetooth pairing, and mode selection. Kilburn III can also be used as a powerbank – USB-C lets you charge external devices.
Fast charging and water protection
The case is IP54 protected against dust and splashes. The battery is removable and rechargeable. Using the 30W USB-C PD charger, 20 minutes of charging provides up to 8 hours of playback. A full charge takes about 3 hours. USB-C 9V/3A and 5V/3A power inputs are supported.
Dimensions and Materials
The device measures 273 × 150 × 169 mm and weighs 2.8 kg. The speaker comes in two colors: Black and Brass (black with brass accents) and Cream. The manufacturing process utilizes 38% recycled materials. Kilburn III is compatible with Marshall’s proprietary Bluetooth app for fine-tuning.
Price and affordability
The Marshall Kilburn III is priced at €349. The speaker is available now on the brand’s official website, and will be available in retail stores starting June 10.
