Looking Glass Go 6-inch “holographic” display officially unveiled

The Looking Glass company has officially unveiled a new device — a 6-inch «holographic» display with a foldable design.

Looking Glass Go 6-inch

Looking Glass has created a range of autostereoscopic displays from 65 inches to 7.9 inches, which it calls «holographic» and «light field displays». Each such display provides a stereoscopic image without special glasses, making it comfortable for multiple people.

The technology for forming a three-dimensional image on Looking Glass devices is more than 100 years old. Displays form a hundred viewpoints, and you can only see the three-dimensional image in each of them at a certain angle. This new device has a thin glass, but despite this, the three-dimensional effect is retained.

The 6-inch Looking Glass Go has a resolution of 1440 × 2560 pixels. The display is made of steel, glass and ABS plastic, weighs 235g and is 1.9cm thick. It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a stereo imaging suite.

The new product is already available to order for $300 on Kickstarter, and it’s worth noting that shipments will begin in June 2024.
