Insta360 has announced a major update for the X5 camera

Insta360 has released a major summer update for its flagship 360 camera, the X5, adding a number of improvements to both the firmware and accessory lineup. Key innovations include:

1. AdaptiveTone — an intelligent exposure balancing system between the two lenses that preserves detail in the light and dark areas of the frame. The technology works with both 360 video in 8K and PureVideo’s flat shooting mode.
2. The enhanced PureVideo mode is now available for single-lens shooting, delivering better low-light quality with reduced noise and improved color reproduction.
3. The new Ultra battery increases battery life by 17%, providing up to 4 hours of continuous recording. In standard mode, the camera can shoot in 8K for up to 2 hours.
