Google Chrome now has a lower address bar – like Samsung’s

Google has added the ability to move the address bar down to Chrome, a feature previously only available on Samsung Internet.
The address bar can now be moved down
The Google Chrome version 138 update introduces a setting that allows you to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen. This change is aimed at making the browser easier to control on devices with larger screens. You can now reach the address field with just one finger – without having to drag your smartphone in your hand.
The feature became available to all users after installing the latest update via Google Play. To activate it, you need to:
- Open Google Chrome;
- Long press on the address bar to open the menu;
- Select “Move address bar down”.
If necessary, the position of the line can be changed again by long pressing on the bottom line and selecting “Move address bar up”.

Google follows Samsung Internet
Samsung Internet has long offered a similar feature, and it’s been popular with Galaxy device owners. Although Chrome is pre-installed on all Samsung smartphones, many users prefer Samsung Internet for its advanced settings, additional features, and better optimization.
Now Google has gone out of its way to make it easier for users to access important browser controls. With screen diagonals growing rapidly, this change seems like a logical and long-awaited step.
