Huawei made two high-profile announcements at once – the company showed off the premium MatePad Mini tablet and the MateTV line of smart TVs, including the advanced MateTV Pro models.

The MatePad Mini gets an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 2,560 × 1,600-dot (16:10) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,800-nit peak brightness and 10-bit color reproduction. There’s a Soft Light version with reduced glare, as well as support for the M-Pencil Pro stylus.
The tablet is very compact: 198.6 × 127.3 × 5.1 mm and weighs 255 g. The built-in 6,400 mAh battery provides up to 15.5 hours of video, and a full 66W charge takes about an hour. The device runs on HarmonyOS 5.1, comes with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage (Soft Light is only available in the older version).

Voice calling, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, proprietary StarFlash technology and BeiDou two-way satellite communication are supported. The main camera is 50 MP, complemented by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, while the front camera is 32 MP. There’s a fingerprint scanner in the power button and stereo speakers.

The second announcement is the Huawei MateTV and MateTV Pro. These are smart TVs with HarmonyOS and Super miniLED screens. The Pro version features an anti-glare coating, floating touch support and an improved audio system (3.2.2 with 9 speakers, up to 180 watts of power).
The basic MateTV has a 2.2 system with 6 speakers (120W). An air mouse remote, stylus, and a gaming touch controller with cursors are available for control.
