Huawei will launch several new products in September

Huawei could have a busy September as it prepares to announce updated clip-on headphones and a compact premium tablet. According to leaks on Weibo, these new products could be unveiled alongside the foldable Mate XTs.

The insider Digital Chat Station reported that the FreeClip 2 model will debut as early as September. Huawei has previously confirmed it will hold a presentation on September 4, reinforcing the likelihood of a reveal there. The first version of the FreeClip came out in December 2023 at a price of $180, and the next generation should offer improved sound quality, better noise cancellation, and faster wireless data transfer. One of the key upgrades could be support for the Nearlink standard, which offers noticeably faster connection speeds than Bluetooth.

The “C-bridge” design will remain, but new colors will be added: Feather White, Modern Black, and Denim Blue. Another blogger on Weibo hinted that Huawei has seriously improved the noise-canceling system.

Digital Chat Station also talked about an 8.8-inch “thin and light flagship” tablet close to certification. Details are few, but the emphasis is on portability without compromising on performance.

Also, the company is prepping the MatePad 11.5 (2025). Specs include a 120Hz LCD screen with a resolution of 2456×1600 pixels, Kirin 8020 processor, 10,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The body will be 6.1mm thick and weigh 515g. The tablet is aimed at students and everyday use, and the price is expected to be around $400. Colors include Space Gray, Island Blue, Frost Silver, and Feather Sand Purple.

With the FreeClip 2, which will compete with the JBL Sense Pro, and an 8.8-inch tablet aimed at the iPad Mini audience, Huawei is expanding its ecosystem in both niche and mainstream segments at once.
