Fujifilm X-T6 may be unveiled in September: first rumors about specifications
After more than three years, the Fujifilm X-T5 finally seems to be getting a successor. New rumors point to a possible release date for a new system camera with an APS-C sensor, and one retailer is already hinting at updates that many users have long awaited.
A new rumor suggests that the X-T5 may be getting a new system camera with an APS-C sensor.
The Fujifilm X-T5 was introduced in November 2022, and the latest information suggests the new model will hit the market in 2026. According to FujiRumors, the Fujifilm X-T6 could be officially unveiled in September. What’s more, Vietnam-based FujifilmShop has already added this camera to its catalog.
Since the retailer is not directly affiliated with Fujifilm and operates independently, this information should be treated with caution. According to the retailer, the Fujifilm X-T6 will retain its 40-megapixel APS-C sensor, but will use the more advanced Fujifilm X-Trans VI CMOS sensor. It’s also expected to move to the new X-Processor 6 image processor.

The linking of a new sensor and processor will allegedly allow the camera to capture images at up to 200 megapixels in multi-exposure mode instead of the current 160 megapixels. Video capabilities are also rumored to improve, with the maximum resolution rising from 6.2K to 8K. One of the most anticipated updates may be a fully swiveling screen, which will once again be able to open in all directions — making it easier to take selfies, as well as photos and videos from non-standard angles.
Other improvements mentioned include an updated autofocus system with 500 focus points, image stabilization that lets you use shutter speeds up to eight stops slower without a tripod, autonomy for up to 750 shots on a single charge, and 20 film simulations. However, this set of specs looks like a mix of informed leaks and a wish list of features.
