Casio unveils new PRO TREK PRW-B1000 watch designed for extreme conditions

Casio has officially announced the PRO TREK PRW-B1000 series, which includes two models — PRW-B1000-1 and PRW-B1000-5. The new products will go on sale later this month and are aimed at those who spend a lot of time outdoors and need a reliable watch for outdoor activities.

The PRW-B1000’s design is inspired by El Capitan Rock in Yosemite National Park. The square steel bezel symbolizes the vertical lines of the rock, while the dial pointer at «9 o’clock» is shaped like a mountaineering schlumber. The multi-layered dial, large hands and protruding markers ensure excellent legibility, while the side buttons and crown are made of metal for extra durability.

The strap is made of cellulose nanofiber (CNF) reinforced Dura Soft material. This wood composite is lightweight, highly durable and resistant to heat, cold and cracking. The case is made of UL94 V-0 certified flame-retardant bio-resin, which means it is self-extinguishing when exposed to fire — the watch is safe to use near a campfire or gas burner.

Energy is provided by Tough Solar technology, which converts sunlight and even weak artificial light into electricity. The model features a triple sensor that measures direction, barometric pressure, altitude and temperature. For accurate time anywhere in the world, there’s Bluetooth and Multiband 6, which receives radio signals from Japan, China, the US, the UK and Germany.
