Canon has announced the imagePROGRAF PRO series of printers for wide-format printing

Canon has introduced the imagePROGRAF PRO series of printers designed specifically for large format printing. Designed for professional use, these devices are characterized by their ability to deliver high quality prints for up to 200 years without fading.

The imagePROGRAF PRO series includes three models: the 60-inch PRO-6600, the 44-inch PRO-4600 and the 24-inch PRO-2600. The unique design of these printers allows two rolls of paper to be used at the same time, allowing workflow to continue without interruption as you switch between different paper types and sizes.

These printers are designed to use two rolls of paper at once, so you can continue your workflow without interruption when switching between different paper types and sizes.

Canon also introduced its latest Lucia Pro II ink, which the manufacturer claims significantly improves overall print quality, especially for darker shades and deep blacks. Thanks to a special formula, this ink is highly scratch resistant on photo paper.

At the time of the official announcement, Canon noted that materials printed with imagePROGRAF PRO will retain their brightness for 73,000 days, which is about 200 years. However, this prediction comes with some conditions. To achieve these results, it is necessary to use special proprietary Canon Photo Paper Pro Platinum paper, as well as to consider storage conditions and other relevant criteria. Otherwise, if other materials are used or the type of lighting changes in the future, print longevity may be reduced.

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO series of printers will go on sale in March 2024, and pricing has not yet been announced.
