The new standard will provide up to 15 watts of power and allow devices from a variety of brands, including iPhones, to be charged using magnets to align on charging pads.

The first smartphones on the market with Qi2 support will be the iPhone 15. Once certified, the iPhone 15 will be able to charge on Qi2-enabled and non-MagSafe wireless chargers with up to 15 watts of power.
