AyaNeo has revealed the development of a Xperia Play-inspired gaming slider smartphone

AyaNeo has announced the development of a gamer smartphone, bringing the forgotten slider form factor back to life. The manufacturer has published teasers, revealing the first details about the upcoming device.

Nothing is known about the technical specifications of the device, called AyaNeo Phone, as well as its appearance. The company has only presented schematic images confirming the sliding design, and made corresponding hints in promotional materials. It’s expected that there will be a sliding panel with controls under the main block with a screen.

The new product is likely to resemble the previously unveiled Anbernic handheld console with a similar form factor, but will get the functionality of an Android smartphone. A release date and price have not yet been disclosed.
