Apple is preparing foldable iPhones and iPads, as well as an affordable version of the Vision Pro

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared a prediction about Apple’s future products. According to him, the company will release a foldable iPhone in 2026, followed by a foldable iPad in 2028. In addition, a lighter version of the Vision Pro headset, the Vision Air, will be available in 2027.
Apple’s foldable devices
According to the report, both the iPhone and iPad will feature ultra-thin protective glass developed by Corning (maker of Gorilla Glass) in conjunction with Chinese company GIS. This material is more expensive than conventional glass, especially in the case of the iPad because of the screen area, so the foldable tablet is expected to cost significantly more than the smartphone.
According to the report, both iPhones and iPads will be equipped with ultra-thin glass.
Cuo previously estimated the price of the first foldable iPhone to be above $2,000. Another analyst, Jimmy Yun, predicted a cost in the $1800-2000 range.
Vision Air is a lightweight version of the Vision Pro
In 2027, Apple will introduce the Vision Air headset, which will be a lighter and more affordable alternative to the Vision Pro. According to Kuo, the new headset will be 40 percent lighter and more than 50 percent cheaper.
In comparison, the Vision Pro costs $3499 and weighs 600-650g. The Vision Air should weigh about 400g and sell for about $1750.
An analyst predicts that Apple could ship about 1 million Vision Air units in 2027. By comparison, current Vision Pro shipments remain below 400k units.
