Apple Experiments with New Thunderbolt Cable for iPhone 15 Pro: Faster Data Transfer and 4K Output Capability

Apple is reportedly currently testing a new power cable with integrated Thunderbolt support for its upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max (Ultra) smartphones. The cable is capable of delivering amazing data transfer speeds of up to 20Gbps, allowing for easy streaming output in 4K resolution at 60Hz. In addition, the cable is capable of transferring up to 150 watts of power, providing significant capabilities for fast charging and powering devices.

The new cable also brings support for USB 4 Gen 2 and Thunderbolt, opening up new horizons for users in connectivity and data transfer. Its design incorporates a thick fabric braid, maintaining strength and durability.

There is some uncertainty, however, as to whether this cable will be included as standard with the iPhone 15 Pro or if it will be available for purchase separately. The size of the cable, which is only 70 centimeters, raises speculation about whether it could be sold separately, given that the previous version of the iPhone 14 Pro came with a one-meter-long cable.

The cable will be sold separately.

All of this raises questions and speculation. Some sources believe that this cable could be geared towards internal testing and development, which would explain its limited length and the option to buy it separately. On the other hand, leaks also suggest that the standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models will come with USB 2.0-enabled cables, continuing the tradition of previous generations of Apple’s smartphones.

All of this raises questions about the cable’s length and availability.
