Panasonic has introduced a ruggedized modular notebook with powerful hardware – the Toughbook 40 Mk2

Panasonic has unveiled the new Toughbook 40 Mk2 rugged notebook, which is designed for professionals working in demanding environments. It features a modular design that allows you to quickly expand its functionality.
The Panasonic Toughbook 40 Mk2 laptop features a 14-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. The chassis of the device is IP66 protected and is MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461H certified. The manufacturer claims that the notebook remains functional in the temperature range from -29°C to +63°C.
The main feature of the laptop is its modular design. A second battery, additional storage, smart card reader, disk drive, fingerprint scanner, RFID card reader, and more can be installed in the case. The Panasonic Toughbook 40 weighs 3.35 kg and is — 54.4 mm thick.

The laptop’s performance comes from an Intel Core Ultra 5 135H or Core Ultra 7 165H processor, depending on the modification. RAM is 16GB and storage — 512GB (models up to 2TB are supported). For wireless connectivity, there’s an Intel BE200 Wi-Fi 7 NIC, as well as 4G/5G and eSIM support.
