Sega has officially finalized its acquisition of Angry Birds developer — Rovio Entertainment. In April, the company announced plans to make «a tender offer» to acquire Rovio for a total purchase price of 706 million euros ($776 million).

Today, the corporation’s official Twitter account posted an image of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles teaming up with Angry Birds, confirming that the merger was complete. When the acquisition was announced in April, it was seen as «a friendly takeover» as Sega said Rovio’s board of directors had agreed and expressed support for the tender offer.

The company also said it expects to finalize the deal by the end of September. According to a statement at the time, the corporation acquired Angry Birds Studios to add to its portfolio of live-action mobile games. The company wants to utilize «Rovio’s know-how in live-action mobile gaming to bring Sega’s current and new games to the global mobile gaming market, which has great potential».
