Sales of new BMW 5-Series started in Russia

According to AUTONEWS, the new BMW 5-Series next-generation G60 sedan, first introduced in May 2023, is now available on the Russian market.

At least two models are currently available in Moscow. One of them — a diesel BMW 520d xDrive with all-wheel drive, available from one of the capital’s car dealerships. The price for this car, equipped with a 197bhp engine, is 10.8 million roubles.

Also, a private seller has posted an ad for a car that is claimed to be used, even though it has only 100k miles on it. It’s a 208 hp gasoline BMW 520i with rear-wheel drive. The seller is asking 10.5 million rubles for it, including utilization fee.

The two cars are equipped with engines that fall under the recycling fee for cars with engine capacity from 1 to 2 liters, which for legal entities is 306 thousand rubles. If these models had an engine of more than 2 liters, the recycling fee would be 844 thousand rubles.

Nevertheless, the prices for these models in Russia were significantly higher than in Germany. At the current ruble-to-euro exchange rate, the base model BMW 520i costs around 5.64 million rubles, while the 520d xDrive — 6.1 million rubles.

It’s also worth noting that older models of the previous-generation G30 5-Series sedan, including 2022 models with no mileage, can also be found at Russian dealers. Prices for these cars range from 7.9 million to 11 million rubles.
