Luxury model with innovative design
Preliminary prices for the S800 range from €124,320 to €186,510, making it one of the most expensive cars made in China. With a length of 5,480 mm, width of 2,000 mm and height of 1,536 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm, the S800 falls into the top 0.01% of cars in terms of size, according to Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei’s smart car division.

Unique appearance
The Maextro S800’s design combines elements of classic luxury with futuristic details. At launch, the model will be available in two color schemes: bright purple-grey and traditional black. One of the most unusual features is the wheel design, which Chinese media describe as resembling «tortillas» or «round rings». This choice was a departure from the standard multi-spoke rims typically found in this segment.

The front grille deserves special attention, which, while upright, has a less angular look than you’d expect from a luxury sedan. Lighting is also an important part of the design: the front of the car features two LED light bars that frame the main headlights, creating a «Milky Way» effect. The same element is present in the rear lights and on the door handles.
Seasonal lighting is also an important part of the design.
Impressive interior and technology
Inside the S800, expect equally luxurious elements such as a «sky» roof and two individual seats for rear passengers. Spy shots hint at the use of a triple-screen design on the front fascia, while a thick B-pillar probably contributes to safety and body rigidity. The Maextro logo in Latin can be seen on the sides and rear of the car, while at the front the logo is integrated into the hood.

Huawei promises to equip the S800 with a host of «super»features including Super Cruise, Super Maneuverability, Super Awareness, Super Privacy, Super Communication, Super AI, Super Protection and Super Reliability. This model will be equipped with an L3 level autopilot system with Lidar on the roof. Three types of intelligence will also be introduced: intelligent driving, intelligent cabin and intelligent system management, all on the second-generation Turing platform.

The future of luxury cars in China
Maextro S800 represents a bold move by Huawei in the automotive industry. In the Chinese market, this model could really resonate. The Chinese electric car market has been growing rapidly over the past few years, and premium car buyers are ready to move from gasoline-powered cars to electric cars. The example of the YangWang brand demonstrates the growing demand for electric cars costing more than €90,000, which holds great promise for Maextro. Huawei promises to take the concept of luxury to a whole new level.
