Apple unveiled macOS 26 Tahoe at WWDC 2025

At WWDC 2025, Apple announced a new version of its desktop operating system, macOS 26 Tahoe. The main new feature is a completely redesigned interface.

According to Craig Federighi, the system was built with all types of users in mind and builds on the strengths of previous versions of macOS. The new design includes updated widgets, app icons, and the Dock, all in the Liquid Glass style.

One notable change is an update to the menu bar – it’s now completely transparent, which visually maximizes display space. Users will be able to customize folders by adding color labels and emoji, as well as use new controls from macOS and iOS apps.

Integration of iOS features and Continuity improvements

The system gained a number of features already familiar from iOS. Live Translation and Image Playground have been added to macOS 26. Continuity has also been enhanced, with Live Activities now available on the Mac, allowing you to interact with activities in real time.
