Apple showed off tvOS 26 with a new design

At the WWDC 2025 conference, Apple unveiled an updated version of its TV platform, tvOS 26. The update includes visual changes, personalization improvements, and new multimedia features.
tvOS 26 gets a refreshed design with a Liquid Glass effect. Controls, app icons, and the Control Center are now layered and adapt to the content on the screen, creating a visually fluid and lively interaction with the system. The Now Playing and Control Center elements refract the background image, integrating seamlessly into the overall design.
Personal Profiles and Automatic Login

One of the major new features was support for user profiles. Each family member can now select their own profile when they turn on their Apple TV and get personalized recommendations, viewing history, and activity stats. A new auto-login API allows apps to automatically authorize without having to re-enter data on each device.
Apple Music updates and karaoke mode

tvOS 26 expands the Apple Music experience. There’s a karaoke mode: users can use their iPhone as a microphone, and their voice will play through the TV speakers. Other people can join in on karaoke by suggesting songs, singing along, or singing a duet.
Apple TV+ content: new seasons and movie announcements
As part of the presentation, Apple also revealed a selection of new content for Apple TV+. Anticipated releases include season three of Foundation, season five of Slow Horses, season three of Loot, season four of The Morning Show, season two of Platonic, as well as the movies Chief of War, The Lost Bus and Highest 2 Lowest.

tvOS 26 continues Apple’s strategy of turning the TV platform into a personalized multimedia experience.
