OPPO and Google announce new artificial intelligence partnership
OpPO has announced a new phase of partnership with Google to develop artificial intelligence on its smartphones. The partnership focuses on three key areas: creating personalized AI features, better implementation of AI models, and enhanced protection of user privacy.
The partnership will focus on three key areas: creating personalized AI features, better implementation of AI models, and enhanced protection of user privacy.
OpPO’s head of software development Kai Tan said that collaborating with giants such as Google enables the integration of advanced AI technologies that are powerful, personalized and secure.
The main result of this collaboration is a new app called Mind Space, which will launch alongside OPPO’s upcoming Find X9 series of smartphones, scheduled to premiere on October 28. The app helps users collect and organize content on the screen, such as texts, images or web pages, with a simple three-finger swipe gesture, and all stored information is automatically sorted for quick access.
OpPO has partnered with Google to integrate Mind Space with Gemini artificial intelligence. This allowed the AI to access the app’s content and help users perform various tasks. For example, if a user saves articles and notes to plan a trip, Gemini will be able to create a detailed itinerary for them. In doing so, the user retains control by deciding what data is available to the AI and how.
The Gemini voice assistant will also work with other OPPO apps. Through it, users will be able to get help, edit photos with the dedicated Nano Banana editor, or ask questions via Gemini Live. The latter will respond to user actions and visual cues, such as showing steps on how to repair the device or how to organize files.
All these features are supported by OPPO AI Private Computing Cloud, a cloud service based on Google Cloud’s secure computing services. This encrypts data processing and ensures that sensitive information remains completely safe and inaccessible to third parties.

The full set of these features will be available on the OPPO Find X9 series smartphones and the ColorOS 16 operating system. Owners of devices in this series will receive a free three-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which gives them access to premium Gemini tools and 2 Terabytes of cloud storage.
