Apple faces lawsuit over Apple Intelligence delays

Apple has found itself at the center of a lawsuit: the company has been accused of false advertising of Apple Intelligence capabilities. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in San Jose and seeks compensation for users who purchased devices that support Apple Intelligence.

The plaintiffs allege that Apple misled consumers by promising advanced AI features that ultimately were not fully realized.

“Apple’s advertisements created a clear expectation among consumers that these revolutionary features would be available immediately upon the iPhone’s release,” the complaint states.
“In reality, the claimed AI capabilities were either substantially limited or non-existent.”

Apple Intelligence has been touted as a key upgrade to Apple’s ecosystem, but its implementation comes with difficulties. Bloomberg reports that Tim Cook is unhappy with the project’s implementation and is losing confidence in John Giannandrea, the head of the AI division.

The lawsuit has become another problem for Apple, which is trying to catch up with competitors in artificial intelligence.
