Ubisoft Forward 2023: How to Watch and What to Expect

Ubisoft Forward 2023, Ubisoft’s annual event, is coming soon with new announcements, gameplay, trailers and more. So here are all the details about the event, starting with the date of the event, how to watch and what to expect. It’s that time of year when gamers from all over the world will be showered with annual game shows. Summer Game Fest 2023 and Xbox Games Showcase 2023 are already scheduled for June, followed by Ubisoft’s annual showcase.

What to expect from Ubisoft Forward 2023?

At the time of writing, Ubisoft hasn’t revealed or even hinted at what games it will be talking about. However, given that XDefiant has just passed its first beta, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage is also just around the corner, Ubisoft may have more to say about these two games.

In addition, there are two other games in development, namely Skull and Bones and The Crew: Motorfest, also in production. So maybe we’ll see gameplay teasers or disclosures at the event.

The Crew: Motorfest.

There’s no denying that Ubisoft has a lot in development, but the publisher will likely only show what it can offer over the next 12 months. Insider Gaming has already learned that Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Assassin’s Creed Nexus and its VR version will definitely show at the event (unless there is a delay). Assassin’s Creed Codename Red and Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe will probably be shown later.

Sources said that Ubisoft is now «quite cautious» when it comes to announcements and release dates for upcoming games, and will be more hesitant going forward. Given that games like Skull and Bones have been delayed six times, and Beyond Good and Evil has been in development for … forever, it’s not surprising that this decision was made.

As for surprises, we’re told that there are plans to announce a single-player game for the abandoned franchise — but unfortunately, it’s not Rayman.

We don’t know if Ubisoft’s mobile games will be featured at the event, but we do know that Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, The Division Mobile and Rainbow 6 Mobile will be released during fiscal year 24 (April 2023 — March 2024) — so they might be there too!

As for games like Beyond Good and Evil 2, Splinter Cell Remake, Star Wars by Massive Entertainment, Far Cry 7 and others, we’re sure they will be announced later. With the exception of Beyond Good and Evil 2, all of these projects are in the early stages of development, so even if they will be presented at the event, we wouldn’t expect anything more than cinematic trailers.

What about other games, such as the Immortals sequel Fenyx Rising, codenamed Oxygen, and the next Ghost Recon game, codenamed Over, details about them are still unknown.

That’s all there is to know about Ubisoft Forward 2023 at this point.
