Stories in Telegram: everything you need to know about them

After a month of waiting, we got what we were promised, — Stories in Telegram. However, they’re only available to Premium users for now. But the rest of us will get our turn in August, so bear with us a little longer. And before we judge whether this feature is good or not, let’s take a look at what’s available.
The first most important thing to remember — you control your reality, which means you can choose who sees your Stories. But there is a catch, not a nuance, but rather a catch — you will see the Stories of absolutely everyone in your contacts. The only option to avoid this — unsubscribe from these people, or hide their Stories in the archive.

There are no complaints in terms of uploading content to Stories. You can add a photo/video directly from the gallery, shoot a photo/video in real time. There’s even a cool feature — Picture-in-Picture mode. With this mode, you superimpose the photo/video from your selfie camera over the main photo/video. For example, you can film your reaction to a performance or fireworks. You can’t repost your own posts, though.
As cosmetics, you can add stickers and emoji, draw, and insert text. The Telegram developers have even taken care and added a photo and video editor. But we’re not talking about any of our favorite macs, widgets, and music yet. Whether it will appear later — it is not known.

If you’re suddenly worried about your privacy when posting Stories on Telegram, you’re in for a treat. You can prevent others from taking screenshots and/or recording your smartphone screen while they’re viewing your content. You can also choose who gets notified that you’ve published Stories.

When viewing, you can also zoom in on Stories to get a better look at some details. Once published, you can edit who sees your content. Oh, yes, you can’t publish Stories on behalf of your channel.

The bottom line: overall, things look the same as we’re used to. There are a number of flaws that will hopefully be fixed in the future. It would be great if they weren’t, of course, but nobody’s perfect. We believe that Stories will not be delayed for ordinary people, and updates for them will be released regularly.
