All Xbox Games Showcase 2025 announcements: Black Ops 7, Persona 4 and more
By ForGeeks After an impressive State of Play and a not-super-impressive Summer Game Fest, Xbox launched its presentation to unveil new games. Today’s Xbox Games Showcase broadcast gave a very clear idea of what the second half of 2025 will look like for the console, as well as 2026.
The release dates for The Outer Worlds 2 and Ninja Gaiden 4 were announced, and much more was revealed about Clockwork Revolution. However, we didn’t see Fable, Gears of War: E-Day and Perfect Dark. Those were a bit of a surprise, but either way we were in for a lot of surprises. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Persona 4 will get a remake, and Obsidian will release its third game this year, Grounded 2.

The Outer Worlds 2 got its own full presentation after the Xbox event, but the game still got a glimpse here. A new trailer for Obsidian’s latest RPG was shown, showcasing its trademark anti-capitalist satire. We also saw plenty of combat scenes with lots of shooting. The sequel even features its own version of the BFG from Doom. The game will be released on October 29.
Asus…s Xbox ROG Ally
The leaks turned out to be true: Xbox is entering the handheld market… in a way. We won’t be getting a portable Series X, but Microsoft is working with Asus to create a version of the ROG Ally designed for Xbox called the Xbox Ally. There will also be a version of the ROG Ally X. It will run on Windows and will be integrated with Xbox Game Pass. Even more surprising is the fact that we’ve gotten new footage from Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Xbox has confirmed that the game will be released this year.

New Ninja Gaiden 4 trailer
After the announcement earlier this year, we were able to get a much closer look at PlatinumGames’ Ninja Gaiden 4. As you’d expect, the developers showed off a very violent trailer filled with blood and ninjas. Finally we got to know the official release date as well. Ninja Gaiden 4 will be released on October 21 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.

The Bioshock-like game Clockwork Revolution got a huge trailer during the show that revealed a lot more about the game. We saw more of its extravagant characters, shooting system, and RPG choices. However, the release date is still unknown, which probably means it won’t be out in 2025.

Obsidian is preparing another new game: Grounded 2
If you thought Obsidian was already swamped with work this year with Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, you’ll be surprised to learn it has a third game in the works. Grounded 2, against all expectations and logic, will be released in Game Preview on July 29. Viewers were shown a big trailer for this survival game, which featured some familiar scenes from the movie Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

After the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team has revealed more information about their next game, Cronos: The New Dawn. The gameplay-focused trailer showed off a dark and bloody third-person shooter that looks like a mix between Dead Space and Silent Hill. The main feature of the game is the shooter’s fusion system. Monsters can merge with others, so players need to burn all the corpses to avoid creating stronger aliens. While an official release date has yet to be announced, the game is now scheduled to be released this fall for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Persona 4 remake
It’s been one of the most poorly kept secrets in the gaming industry this summer, and now it’s finally been revealed. Persona 4 Revival is a remake of the classic RPG that follows in the footsteps of last year’s Persona 3 Reload. We’ve seen very little about the game and don’t know its release date, but at least we know it… exists.
Double Fine’s new game, Keeper
It’s been a while since we’ve been shown a new game from Psychonauts 2 developer Double Fine, but we’ve finally seen what they’re working on – and it’s pretty amazing. Keeper is an adventure game in which you control a walking lighthouse with a bird sitting on top of it. It will be released on October 17.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
As a grand finale, Xbox unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. While not too much was revealed about the upcoming game, we were shown a very cinematic trailer that gave a glimpse of the story. The game is set in the year 2035, with David Mason playing the lead role. That’s all we managed to find out. No release date has been announced, so it’s not clear yet if the game will be released this year.
